Our Approach

1. GETTING TO KNOW YOU

When we first meet, we like to spend time getting to know you to discover your current financial position and your personal and work priorities and ambitions. With a thorough understanding of your situation and your financial objectives we will gather information from you about your existing financial planning and look at any plans you already have in place. Then by exploring your attitude to risk and return, alongside your financial hopes and aspirations, we will build a picture of what you want to achieve. At this stage you will find out what to expect from us and how you will benefit from using us. We do not usually charge a fee for this stage.

2. PLANNING

Once we fully understand your current position and your needs and ambitions, we will explore and research various scenarios to make the best use of your existing plans for the future. We will then recommend how you can build on your existing plans, in order to achieve financial security and to achieve your financial goals for the future. We always consider both immediate and longer term planning and advise you appropriately.

3. IMPLEMENTING

The majority of our clients prefer us to do the necessary work to put their plan into action, and we will work on your behalf with the relevant financial providers. This will save you a lot of time and effort and ensure your plans are set up correctly. We will charge you a fee for this service which we will explain to you. Alternatively, you may decide to implement our recommendations yourself, in which case we just charge you for our time and advice.

4. REVIEWING

Building long term relationships with our clients is at the heart of our philosophy and we are always accessible to listen to any concerns. An important part of our service is checking the progress and suitability of your plans on a regular basis. We suggest this takes place at least annually. We can then keep you up to date on any changes to financial markets, the economy, government legislation and taxation that could impact on your plans. You will also hear from us if we have anything which we feel would be of interest to you.

Location

Our office is based in the historic market town of Abergavenny. We help clients throughout Monmouthshire and South Wales, Bristol, Gloucestershire and the South West, and Herefordshire and the Borders.

Our People

Wealth Doctor is managed by Dr Josh Lewis with the support of his team.

Josh originally worked in the NHS as a doctor for 10 years before recognising that financial wellbeing was of equal importance to medical health in helping people achieve long term security, goals, happiness and success.

After leaving the NHS he spent a number of years in industry and has a Masters degree from one of the UK’s leading business schools - the University of Bath School of Management.

He has worked in Financial Services since 2008.

His philosophy in helping clients achieve financial wellbeing is maintained and integrated within all areas of advice and the practice.

Josh lives in the Wye Valley with his wife and three children.
